Mobile App Privacy Policy

PortSys, Inc. respects your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This policy describes the personal information that we collect from you or your device, or that you provide when using TAC Mobile application (the “App”) and how that information may be used or disclosed by us. TAC Mobile application (the “App”) is an accompanying product to PortSys Total Access Control Gateway security product, which provides secure and managed access to corporate resources, like web sites, email, etc. 

In this Privacy Policy, we refer to the business that has purchased our products or services as your “employer”, although you may be a consultant or otherwise affiliated with such company.

Note that your employer may have its own privacy policies regarding your communications and your mobile device and other privacy issues, and you should always contact your employer if you have any questions about those privacy issues.

Please read the following carefully to understand our Privacy Policy and practices regarding your personal information and how we will treat it. This policy may change from time to time, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

PortSys does not sell or rent personal information to third parties

Children under the age of 13

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may use TAC Mobile application. If you are under 13, please remove TAC Mobile application from your device.

What information TAC Mobile collects?

We collect basic information about your device so that we may perform the registration of your device, operation and maintenance of the PortSys Total Access Control Gateway software for your employer. All the information we collect from your devices is stored on servers and services hosted or otherwise owned and managed by your employer and PortSys or PortSys employees does not have direct access to it. The information is stored securely inside your employer network. We do not share this personal information with advertisers or other third parties, unless you tell us to do so or unless we are compelled by law to make such disclosures. Importantly, we do not collect and store your name or any other personally identifiable information, and TAC Mobile dies not require or store any personal financial information. 

The information about you or your device that TAC Mobile and Total Access Control Gateway may collect, access, use, and/or store for these operational purposes consists of:

  • Mobile device identifiers, such as the IP address, make and model, carrier, country, operating system version, and other technical details. This information enables your IT administrator to send certain administrative (not personal) text messages to you and enables Apple push notification services or Google notification services to deliver messages from your IT administrator to your device.

Above-mentioned information is stored inside your employer network infrastructure and may be transmitted to PortSys only in case of troubleshooting and PortSys employees will never share it with other parties, except your employer while working on support incident. 

What about my photos and personal data (email)?

Your employer cannot use TAC Mobile software to do any of the following:

  • Obtain copies of your photos or videos
  • Monitor your iMessages or Text messages
  • Monitor your personal email or usage of applications on your device
  • Limit your access to specific access points, websites or locations
  • Track Internet usage
  • Record phone calls

Device Administrator permission on Android devices

Your employer may configure Total Access Control Gateway, which is used to protect access to corporate resource, to require your device to be compliant with corporate access policy of your employer. When accessing such resources TAC Mobile application will prompt you to allow TAC Mobile gain Device Administrator permission. This permission is used to set required PIN/Passcode policy, unlock device in case of forgotten PIN/Passcode and enable device encryption. Once enabled, Device Administrator permission can be removed using Settings -> Security -> Device Administrator dialog on your device. Uncheck TAC Mobile. Also removal of Device Administrator is needed when you want to uninstall TAC Mobile application from your device. If you remove Device Administrator permission for TAC Mobile application you may lose the ability to access your corporate resource until Device Administrator permission is restored for TAC Mobile. You may restore it using the method mentioned before in this section.

Information Disclosure

We may also disclose known personal information to third parties to:

  • Comply with any court order or other legal obligation.
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of PortSys, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection.

How does PortSys protect personal information?

Information we collect about your and or your device is stored inside your employer infrastructure, please consult your IT administrator regarding safeguards that protect your information. When PortSys receives your device information for troubleshooting purposes we at PortSys implement administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to assist in protecting that information against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. Please note that no electronic transmission of information can be entirely secure. We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place to safeguard personal information will never be defeated or fail, or that those measures will always be sufficient or effective.
