Marlborough, Mass. March 11, 2014. PortSys announces plans for a replacement product for the Microsoft UAG which was recently announced as end-of-life by Microsoft.
Today, PortSys announced its intent to develop a full replacement product for Microsoft’s UAG which was announced as being end-of-life in December and will be end-of-support in April of 2015.
PortSys CEO, Michael Oldham stated:
“We understand how important this type of product is within our customer’s environments. When Microsoft announced the end of UAG, customers were left without a viable pathway forward. PortSys has been developing many technologies that have expanded the functionality of UAG already, such as our Secure Mobile Enterprise, SafeLogin, Ballista application acceleration and our Portal Branding technologies. We are now investing significantly in the creation of a full access control security framework that will step far beyond the previous limits of UAG.”
Total Access Control will provide customers with an all-inclusive solution that will combine the many ways in which we access information today into one comprehensive product. TAC will allow the use of any device from any location to access resources anywhere (local or cloud) securely. TAC will include technologies such as SSL/VPN, VPN, Single Sign-On, Multi-factor Authentication, Application Firewall, Cloud Access Control, Application Acceleration, Portal-based Access and Mobile Device Management in a scalable solution capable of meeting any organization’s information access needs.
Oldham also noted, “PortSys recognizes that existing UAG customers must have a viable pathway between UAG and a new state-of-the-art gateway. Therefore, we will be developing technology that not only allows customers to port their existing UAG configurations to TAC, but also preserves the knowledge that customers have built in with their administrative staff. TAC will be simple to understand for existing UAG administrators and will allow organization to transition without impact to their end users.”
PortSys anticipates Total Access Control will be available beginning in the second quarter of 2015.
